How to perform the Ghusl (bath)?

All praises be to Allaah, Lord and Sustainer of the worlds, and may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and upon his family and companions.

Ghusl is of two kinds:

1. Sufficient, 2. Complete.

Sufficient Ghusl

This is done by just rinsing one's mouth and nose, then washing the entire body with water.

Complete Ghusl

Complete ghusl is done by:
1. Washing the private parts and anywhere else that is contaminated with any impurity.
2. Performing a full wudoo (see How to perform Wudoo).
3. Pouring water over your head three times, making sure that it reaches the roots of the hair.
4. Finally washing the right side of your body and then the left side.
